Dupre Trahan and Amanda were in Winn Parish in 1920 not Calcasieu. Their daughter Sallie was in Calcasieu Parish at least at the time of her daughters birth in 1902. 1. Gillett/Bilbo Family
    2. Griesan, Tom
    3. Hi! I am looking for information on a family that lived near or in Lake Charles from at least 1840 to 1853. Columbus Gillet(t) married Anna Marie Bilbo, daughter of Thomas Bilbo. They married on 20 June 1840. I believe that they married in Calcasieu Parish. I would like to confirm this. Also, they had the following children in Louisiana, probably in Calcasieu Parish: 1. Winchester, born in 1841. 2. Cloe, born in 1844. 3. Thomas, born in 1846. 4. Zachary, born in 1848. 5. Ann, born about 1851. The family appears in the 1850 census there in Calcasieu Parish. Can anyone help me confirm the marriage or births there? Are there resources available for this time period? Also, if anyone has a history book for Calcasieu Parish for this time period, I would love to have a lookup for the Gilletts. One last thing, Columbus Gillett was at various times in his life a minister for the Methodist Church. Is there anywhere where I can find if he was a minister there in Calcasieu Parish? Does anyone have fairly detailed history of the Methodist churches around there? Thanks for your time and energy! - Jean Griesan Colorado

    1. W.J. (Jodie) Williams b. ca 1890,of Lake Charles LA
    2. Mitch & Joy
    3. Does anyone have any info on W.J. (Jodie) Williams, b. sometimes around 1890, give or take 5 years or so. I believe he was born in Millview Fla and early on in his life moved to Lake Charles, LA and married Jane (??maiden name). Jodie died Nov 16, 1946 and is buried in Woolmarket (north of Biloxi MS). They had about 5 children and the children all lived somewhere along the MS Gulf Coast. I am interested in knowing anything on Jodie's ancestry. I do know that his parents were Daniel Williams and wife Ida Powell and I am trying to locate anything that I can on Daniel and Ida. I do know that Daniel and Ida probably had all of their children in Millview Fla (a few miles west of Pensacola). It was rumored that Daniel married several more times after separating from Ida and he moved on to Port Arthur Texas. Thanks for any help. Kathy Mitchell

The Census showed three children, Albert H., Mary Eveline and Lenora Ellen. My great grandmother was their last child, Fannie Adeline Ballance 1868-1943. She married Hypolite Doucet ?. Does anyone know when this family settled in Calcasieu Parish, the names and dates of birth for all their children (I was told they had eight) and the date of marriage for Fannie Ballance and Hypolite Doucet. Thanx in advance.
