Surnames: Barnett, Short, Murphy, Hanger Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YCB.2ACI/527.1 Message Board Post: I would like to add the name of Murphy to the query for info on Barnett and Short families. The names I am seeking info about are James Murphy & wife Mary Johnson Murphy, grandparents of Minnie Mae Murphy Barnett. Also need info on Minnie's mother, Margaret Hanger Murphy wife of James Thomas Murphy. All roads in this family seem to lead back to Louisiana where James Murphy was reported to born in 1860 census. Any help would be appreciated.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YCB.2ACI/418.1.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Jesse Walles' parents are: Father: John Joseph Walles Mother: OsaOlla Gentry Brothers & Sisters: Jake, Clara, Vera, Reed, Grace, Essie, John, Thel, Avoline, Percy, Katherine, Ben, Margaret I think I got them all. I went to the Tyrrell Historical Library and searched the soundexes for Sevan Sonier. Couldn't find anything in the 1880, found info in the 1900, 1910 & 1920. In the 1920 Census, I found where Sevan had remarried. Her name was Anna Thompson and she had 3 children. I haven't been able to get back over there to do somemore research. It was so enjoyable. Hope you have a Happy Turkey Day. Do you have a direct email address other than through this site? Cindy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YCB.2ACI/524.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks for the oversight. My grandmother's name was Adela Mary (Marie) Mechura Jakobeit Louisiana records would probably be under Adela Mary Jakobeit she was divorced from my grandfather, but I am under the assumption that she kept her married name. She is buried in a cemetery in Sulphur, perhaps one that has Mimosa in the name... relatives are unsure of this information. Her divorce from my grandfather was not an amicable one and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to get information from my grandfathers side of the family, and I do not know my grandmothers side of the family at all... Any information that can be offered will be greatly appreciated Thanks

    2. I received copies of three successions at the St. Landry Parish Courthouse this past June at a cost of $0.75 per page. I don't know what they are charging in Lake Charles, but would think it is similar. There were 26 pages in total for the three early 1800's successions. Bryant Walker

    3. Hello: I've found an ancestor of my husband's on the RootsWeb site for Calcasieu Parish Successions, 1911 - 1912. Can someone tell me what information I might receive if I request a copy of the file? Naturally prices vary with the length of the file, but is there some approximation of what it would cost? Thanks for your help. Judy Cuyle

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YCB.2ACI/512.1 Message Board Post: Mimosa Pines Cemetery is located 5 or 6 miles south of I-10 on Hwy 27, which is south of Sulphur. I guess it would be considered closer to Carlyss. The inscriptions are online in the archives at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/calcasie.htm> Go to cemeteries and then scroll down to Mimosa. Hope this helps and have a great day!

    3. Dear List, My name is Terry Sayre and I am new to Calcasieu Parish. I am searching for a relative of mine who died in Lake Charles in 1986. I have his obituary but it does not show where he was buried. Does anyone have access to a county/parish cemetery book? Also, I have been trying to find out how long he lived in Lake Charles. Does anyone know where I might find city directories? Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Terry Sayre Hillsboro, OR
