I am sorry to say that San Antonio was not named after one of the Corbellos, although that would be nice. An interesting story on how they ended up on Louisiana--in 1813 when the Americans took over San Antonio from the Mexicans, the Corbellos were accused of being American sympathizers. When the Mexicans took the town back from American control, the Corbellos were asked to leave, so they traveled first to Opelousas then on to Calcasieu Parish where they settled. Many returned to Texas in the late 1800's. The person with the most extensive information that I know of is Nell Whittington who has a message on this webpage. I would be happy to share any information with anyone who asks. Donna Corbello Woodard
Somehow I sent the reply about BLAIR to the wrong people....
I found this on BLANCHE BLAIR and EMILE EMORY.....unfortunately Fr. Hebert's work only covers from Rapides Parish to the Gulf of Mexico and from the Atchafalaya River to the Texas border........ EMERY, Blanche Henriette (Emile & Blanche BLAIR) m. 4 July 1872 Joseph RODRIGUEZ (NI Ch.: v. 2, p. 190)

Surnames: Darbonne Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YCB.2ACI/561 Message Board Post: I am researching a Joseph Darbonne. I have come across two different Joseph Darbonne that married a Ezora (Isora) Johnson. Depending upon where you look, you will find different information. 1. Joseph Wallace (Wallis) Darbonne born 04/1862. 2. Joseph Vuillet Darbonne born 04/1862. All of the information on family trees, that I have found, are stating that both of the Joseph's parents were Louis and Melinda Darbonne. Unless they are twins, this would be impossible. NOW, here is the questions. Are these two Joseph Darbonne one in the same, are there two different Ezora Johnson, and who is the real parents of these Joseph Darbonne? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ken Simpson
