To any one who knows anything about figs, I have 3 gallons of figs, just picked and I cannot find my recipe for fig preserves. (If I ever had one) I HAVE BEEN COOKING THEM FOR YEARS, BUT NOT IN THE LAST THREE. MY BLOND MOMENTS HAVE TAKEN OVER AND I CANNOT REMEMBER WHAT I DID. I THINK I CUT THE STEMS OFF AND ADD A CUP OF SUGAR FOR EACH CUP OF FIGS. THEN ADD SOME LEMON JUICE AND SOME JELLO. That is as far as I have gotten. I am going to leave them in the fridge overnight. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Frances ===============================================

I don't remember if I told you what parish or not and I am looking through my notes which I plan to go back and check each family to verify my research since it was so long ago and my memory doesn't work all that well. (I have families records on Allsbrooks, Crawford, Harris, Weeks, Glass, Allred, Harris, Stephens,Runnels/Reynoldls, Barley,Thompson, Chitty, Roland, Rozzell, Chisham, Thomas, Dunns, White,Humble, Bellard, Jeanis/Janis, Murphy, Beau, Leger, Lejeiune, Matte, Fontenot, Lebleu and some I am sure I am not listing.) They are in huge notebooks because I try to research each family member in each lineage. I hope my research is correct because there are so many that are not and that is why I am going back and checking. I wasn't looking to join any of the groups, just to find out more about my ancestor. Believe me I could have picked some of these ancestors and! been though researching--only some are not right. I do have some bible records sources but so far, no one seems to know anything about them and they were back in the 1800's. Why. So here is why I have, when I was searching my husband's family I discovered J. B. (T ??) Osbrouk at household 362 at the age of 25 married, farmer, 460 value, place born MS. Listed is his wife Mandy Rolin 21, f , Ms and a Samuel B Osbrouk, 1, m MS. Now this was taken 19th ;(I think) day of July 1860, in Rapids Parish LA. Page 89. I do have a copy of this. The only way that I knew that this was my group was the fact that the 1860 census taker listed the maiden name of the spouse. Since I had check the death records on Joseph in the Co. Clerk's office, I would have missed this entry because I was not looking for a ROLAND. However, on the death certificate, Grandpa James Allsbrooks had listed his money as Susan Amanda Roland and I had just found this certicate and knew that new information. Can email a copy if you wish.

In 1930 I turned 5 years old. We lived on my grandfather's dairy farm east on Broad Street - out a ways. I started to school at Rosteet School. I'm trying to find me in the census. Can anyone give me a guide as to which district(s) I would most likely find myself? My grandfather lived on 4th Street close to L C high school (we could sit on the upstairs porch and watch the football games. Which district(s) would I likely find fourth street? Thanks Floreda

I am particularly interested in Lucinda. My great grandfather, Sherod "Shirley" Buxton married a Lucinda Doyle and had 3 sons: Lloyd Buxton, Claude Buxton and Tom Foley Buxton. I have dates on all of them, at home, but I am at work right now and am not sure of them. I will be happy to share the little bit of info I have. I am also looking for a Wealthy Doyle, daughter of John Buxton and Elizabeth Buxton, if you ever come across anything, remember me. Happy researching Donna
