    1. [LACADDO] Census Question-AR/LA
    2. Here is hoping that someone can help me with this problem. I have a copy of a census record that I found in a stack of papers. There is no date, county, state or anything at the top. Someone has written on the back #21 Our Grandfather, John W. Blunt - Note in another household, the Mother is Maricipi and there is a Nancy Ayles. This John W. Blunt is my great granddad, at the age of 15 (he was born 1855), so this should be the 1870 census. But, I have gone to the census records at Ancestry.Com and not found it. It has to be somewhere out there, because I have a copy, but it is very faded and difficult to read. Can anyone offer any assistance? Thanks so much. 3. Jackie, What additional information was asked for in the census, i.e. place of birth, place of birth of parents, etc.? That can help narrow the possibilities of the year of the census. If it has the individual's pob but not the parents', it would be BEFORE 1880. 1880 was the first year the census asked for the parents' pob. I think 1870 was the only year there were columns for "Mother Foreign Born?" and "Father Foreign Born?". The information may also help you narrow the location. For instance if almost everyone on the page was listed as born in MO, chances are the census is for some county in MO. You mentioned a Nancy Ayles, what was her age and pob? Maybe you can find her in an earlier or later census. Gather all the clues you can glean from the one page you have. Let us know and we'll help you look.
