    1. Missionary, LA
    2. I almost got to go to Missionary yesterday, just to drive around and see what was what. But my son was driving, and made me a nervous wreck, so we only got as far as Ida. (Thanks goodness) BUT, I am going to get over there, very soon. (Under my own steam). My grandfather and his father were clearing land there, the horses were spooked, and somehow the dynomite in the wagon exploded, and killed ggrandfather. This web site maps all of the area: (most maps do not show Missionary, but this one does) http://www.topozone.com/ It shows Missionary to be another community on the Red and the map also shows a "ferry"? Is that current or historical? I thought that when they put up the bridge at Spring Bank, that the last working ferry in the area was discontinued. He states it was in Bossier Parish. His name was William Davis and had a twin brother, John. They were an African American family. Thanks, Nadia >>
