C. Thompson. He very well could be a son of Joseph C. Thompson. I don't guess he was known as a junior or as J. C. Thompson, II.? Thanks for your reply. 2. Linda Hooper, I have not run across Robert Edward Thompson, but that does not mean he could not be part of my Thompson family. I have first hand knowledge of several Thompson's that were in Caddo parish starting about 1815 or so. They were my gggg grandfather, John Thompson, born about 1754 in North Carolina. His wife's name was either Sarah or Ann or Sarah Ann.(Could have been called Sally since that is a nickname for Sarah). John's son Archibald Thompson also lived there for a short time. What happened to him is a mystery. John died in March of 1839 and Archibald was a co-administrator of John's estate which consisted of about $2,000.00 of property. Archibald, however was never listed as recieving any money or property on John's succession. John had 5 girls though who did and also two grandchildren, one of them being Archibald's son and another was Delaney West. John's girls were, Nancy Thompson, married to William Iles Jr. (William was the administrator of John's estate.) Mary Thompson, married to Henry Bond of Pike Co. Ms., Judith Thompson married to Robert Bond of Harrison Co. Ms., Sally Thompson, married to Frederick Foster of Caddo parish (I think) and Elizabeth Thompson married to George S. Garner, (Tenn or Ms.) and Lavenia Thompson married to Elisha or Elijah Price, origin unknown. There was also a Joseph Buchanan Thompson, b. Mar 23, 1803, that lived in or around Mooringsport, Caddo parish, La. and died there about Nov 14, 1882. He was married twice, first to a Margaret Elvira Burch and secondly to a Lydia B. Randle. There were no children from the Randle union that I know of. Joseph and Margaret Burch had several children. The ones that I know of are: James J. Thompson born about 1843 Joseph C. Thompson b. June 04, 1846 Eugenia Rebecca Thompson John B. Thompson Richard Noel Thompson Joseph B. Thompson was named as secondary guardian of Nancy Thompson Iles's two minor children when William Iles Jr. died in 1850. For that reason I claim him as a relative. I think John Thompson would have been his great uncle or possibly his uncle. Joseph Buchanan Thompson's father was James Thompson Sr. of Davidson or Williamson Co. Tn., b. Mar. 12, 1773. He was married to Margaret (Peggy) Buchanan. Hence Joseph B. Thompson's middle name. James and Peggy were married May 14, 1800. Their children were, Mary S., Sarah McAllister, Joseph Buchanan, Thomas Jefferson, Susan Ann, James Senior, Margaret, and Mariah Moore Thompson. James Thompson Sr.'s father was Joseph Thompson b. about 1740 (in Unknown, maybe Tn.or NC.), d. Sept 01, 1831. He was married to Sarah McAllister b. abt. 1748. They were married abt. 1768 (est.) where, is unknown. Their children were, Ann, John, James, Jesse, Mary, Rebeccah, Nicholas, Thomas, Lawrence, Joseph, and William. Joseph's father was Thomas Thompson of NC, b. Unknown, in probably Va. He died abt. 1795 in NC most likely. He was married to an Ann Finney, nothing known about her. Their children were, Thomas, Rebekah, Abraham, Ellen, Joseph, Samuel, Laurence, and John, b.ca 1754 (I think this is my 4g grandfather) This is quite long and complicated so I expect it will take some time to digest it. Most of this information has been gathered from other researchers except for the parts about John Thompson, his children and the connection to Joseph Buchanan Thompson. The rest might have mistakes. If you know of any mistakes in this and can document it please by all means let me know. Regards, Ronald O. Thompson
