Francine, Thank you for checking on that. We really didn't think she was born in LA., particularly when the census says TX. and the family had always said Texas. I actually do have the 1930 Kaufman Co. Census, so have that other information you provided. Now just trying to track back from her to her parents and grandparents, etc......as well as locations that the family may have been in. M.H. SINGLETON and Lula (Francis L.) had divorced......so LANE was marriage #2, MEEKS was #3. I did locate my gr.Grandfather (M.H.) in Conroe, Tx. (death), but haven't found him in ANY Texas Census records, much to my dismay. But will keep looking. Perhaps I've missed something. I do know both of Ruby's parents were b. in TN. Thank you again!
