Born July 20, 1920, in Shreveport, La., Mr. Evans was the son of the late Arrealous and Betsy Evans. He was a resident of Dunnigan for 59 years. He was employed by Granite Construction as a supervisor and was also a member of the Local Union No. 185. He was an advocate of the American Red Cross. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nellie Evans; daughters, Denise Watts and husband James, Diane Ford and husband Elgin, Karen Davis and husband Dorice and Ruth Evans and husband Jay; grandchildren, Byron Minter and wife Lisa, Shawn McLemore and wife Rebecca, Sequoia Brown, LaTonya Simmon, David Dixon and Dorise J. Eaton; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, May E. Ferguson. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland. Services: A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at McNary's Chapel, with interment to follow at the Woodland Cemetery.
