I know this isn't exactly in your parish but kind of in your back yard. I am looking for info on Dr. S. L. Wharton. He died April 9, 1927 in Mansfield, DeSoto Parish. He was married to Gertrude. He was a dentist and the Death Cert. says he was born in DeSoto. I think he was 80 at death (death cert is hard to read). That would make his date of birth 1857 or so. This MIGHT be my gg uncle. The name my uncle has in the census records is Leonard but several members of the family are known by their middle names. The letter "L" and the date of birth both point in the direction of my relative. I would appreciate any help/information anyone of your subscribers can provide. Thank you Carolyn
