Hi Mary, Do you have any idea how long ago his death happened, this year or several years ago? I think the first thing I would do is check the Social Security Death Index. http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi Enter his last name, first name and year of birth then click on "Submit". If you know the state in which he lived as a young person, you might try adding that state in "ISSUE", especially if he has a common name. If your brother is in the index, that will give you some basic information such as the month and year of death and possibly where he last lived if he was receiving S.S. benefits.
