I'm looking for any information about the family of Julia Florence ROBERTS. She was born in 1870 or 1871, probably in Arkansas. She married James Bostwick OLDS in the 1890's. There were six children: Velma, Willie, Julia V., Lynn, Herschel, and Dorthy. Julia V. was born in Vivian, Caddo Parish. In the 1920 and 1930 censuses the family was living in Hosston, Caddo Parish. Julia Florence died in 1947 in Caddo Parish. Hi Mary, Do you have any idea how long ago his death happened, this year or several years ago? I think the first thing I would do is check the Social Security Death Index. http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi Enter his last name, first name and year of birth then click on "Submit". If you know the state in which he lived as a young person, you might try adding that state in "ISSUE", especially if he has a common name. If your brother is in the index, that will give you some basic information such as the month and year of death and possibly where he last lived if he was receiving S.S. benefits. If you have any trouble using the index, let me know. Good luck. My aunt and uncle, Grant and Mae Beaty were living in Rodessa when he died in 1936. They were working with Skelley Oil in an area called Capps City. Does anyone have information about Capps City or know anyone working with Skelley during that time. Thanks, Sandra Van Wyk

I think that one was Sheriff in Texarkana[Ark?]. For some interesting Tackett history search for "Mountain Meadow Massacre". My records of Tacketts is skinny unfortunately. A Henry Tackett married one of my fathers sisters and had one daughter named Ruby Mae Tackett Brinson buried in Shreveport. Had no offspring.
