In the same directory a Birdie Hamilton worked on Texas Street and gave the same address on Spring Street as her home. Does any one know these people? This is where you get the actual marriage certificate or copy of.... If you want to see an original you will have to visit the court house and order it in. It might take a couple of days.... They have all of them on microfilm and the lady that runs that is very efficient. You just need to make the request of the bride and groom, approx dates and send the money or call and see if they will check the index while you hold.... always worth a try. I might suggest that you write to the Caddo Parish Court House 501 Texas St. Rm 103 Shrevport, LA 71101-5408 Marriage 1-318-226-6789 cost $1.50 per sheet Ask them if this couple is listed and if so to please send you a copy of the marriage license plus the information sheet that goes with it. Your turn around should be no longer than two weeks. I have checked Oakland the oldest cemetery here. You can call this cemetery, probably the largest here. started in 1914 or 1919 Forest Park Cemetery 318- 861-3544 this one list on a computer for west also. 3700 St. Vincent Shreveport, LA 71103 west 686-1461 You must tell them your family I also checked this cemetery that is listed on line http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~crossloch/GREENWOOD_CEMETERY_PAGE.html I would suggest that you look at an online phone book for their names to see if they are listed. Seeking assistance with genealogy for the McDade families of Bossier and Caddo Parish. Trying to update data on cousins which was originally published in "Youngblood-Armstrong and Allied Families" by Floelle Youngblood Bonner and Frances Youngblood (1962). These families migrated from Alabama to Louisiana, then from Louisana to Texas and back again. Having problems matchng up data from book, early censuses and the 1920 & 1930 censuses. Can anyone help? Ron, Thanks for the info. There are a few errors in the census tho as G.L Korneyman is O.L Hornerman my Uncle Lawrence Kattie Markham is my Aunt Hattie Markham who married OL Hornerman. Aunt Hattie and Uncle Lawrence raised my mother (Winnie) and her two sisters after my grandmother Rosy died in 1922.
