He was Lewis D. Saffold and his parents were Thomas SAFFOLD and Sarah ASKEW, who were married August 21, 1823, in Jasper County, GA. Thomas was a son of William SAFFOLD, Jr. (Rev. Soldier), born in Surrey or Lunenberg County, VA, died 1815 in GA, probably Washington County, and Ann GOUDELOCH, daughter of Adam Goudeloch and Anna Stockton. I have nothing on the CALDWELL or WILLIAMSON lines you mentioned. Olivia

Your name keeps jumping out at me everytime i am researching my family, CALDWELLS, WILLIAMSONS AND SAFFOLDS. I think my line of Saffolds may have come from Alabama and ended up in Monroe Co. Ga. My mothers maiden name was Ida Mae CALDWELL. She is the daughter of Rev. A.l Caldwell and Etta Saffold Caldwell. Etta was the daughter of Louis (lewis) Saffold who died in May 1926. I do not know her grandmothers name. Grandfather Caldwells father was John J. Caldwell and his mother was Elizabeth Williamson. Grandmother Etta Saffold Caldwell was the daughter of Lewis Saffold and Lula Littleton Saffold. Please let me know if we are from the same line and if you have any additional information you can provide me. THANKS
I looked at your John Peek since you mentioned McLennan County Tx. I have heard of the Peek Cemetery in Elm Mott on FM 308. My parents grew up in that area and lived on FM 308 before their recent passing. I know the approximate location but haven't tried to find it. Do you know who owns the property its on? Have you been there? I have been told he may have changed the spelling of his name to Showers. In the 1900 census his name was spelled Showers. He married Carrie Hull in 1887. According to the census they had these children: Lula, Lena, Jodie, Fern (all girls) and Doswell. The gravestone of Carrie Showers is in the Blanchard cemetery, she died in 1901. I can't find them in the Caddo census after that. I did find a SSDI record for Doswell Shows who died in 1963 in Louisiana. I will be happy to share data about the ancestors of Thomas Shows if I can contact any descendants. Any help will be appreciated.
