    1. RE: [LACADDO] Searching for Keith family
    2. Betty Clingman
    3. Marguerite, In the late 1800's, there was a Keith family living in south Caddo Parish near the DeSoto Parish line. The non-incorporated community of Keithville was named for this family. Other than that, I know nothing about them except that the old Keith home burned down a few years ago. I don't think there are any family members still living in Keithville. My husband grew up in Keithville as did his 92 year old father. I just phoned my father-in-law and the only names he could recall were Perry Keith and his three sons, Daniel, William and Polk. I don't have any idea if these folks are connected to the Keith for whom you are searching but thought I would pass along the information. Good luck in your search. They were all born in Georgia and I suspect they migrated to Louisiana with one of William Cade son's who was a slaveholder. The Cade's owned several plantations in GA, AL & MS. Oliver & Lee Cade are listed as mulatto on the 1870 & 1880 census in Caddo parrish, Louisiana and I believe they were all brothers. I'm trying to find information on their parents. Lee Cade is my gg-grandfather. Thanks, Erica

    2. E. C. and Jean Laster
    3. Gowan Sanitarium was a treatment center owned by a local doctor of that name back in the 40's or 50's. In those days people who were afflicted with TB were isolated even from their families for long periods of time. I remember visiting a friend there around 1949 or 1950. The hospital was located in Shreveport near the corner of Line Avenue and Pierremont (actually Mitchell Lane) at approximately the present site of Pierremont Heritage Manor nursing home. I don't know whether there was ever a connection with Oschner's but it is possible. Hope this is helpful. Perhaps someone on the list is more familiar with the place than I.
