    1. [LACADDO] Hollis PUGH s/o Carlton PUGH & Carrie Mae [ENGLISH]
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: PUGH, ENGLISH, GOODMAN, SIMMONS, MOORE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XCB.2ACI/712 Message Board Post: Carrie Mae [ENGLISH] was the daughter of RJP English and Ida [SIMMONS]. Carrie married Carlton PUGH and lived in Sabine Parish, La. Per the 1930 census their oldest child was Hollis and they had another son and 2 daughters. I have no idea what happened to Carrie Mae and Carlton after 1930. Carrie's father died when she was about 10 years old and her mother died before 1910 as Carrie and her siblings Mary Willie, Ellis Miller, and Manuel L are shown living with their oldest sister Mrs Beulah [English] GOODMAN on the 1910 Sabine Parish La census. I need full names, birthdates, deathdates, places etc for the wives and children of James B. Goodman and his brother Benjamin Clyde Franklin Goodman Sr, as well as for Carrie's other siblings. James married Beulah [English] abt 1907 and Benjamin married her sister Mary Willie [English] abt 1912. Beulah and Mary Willie were the daughters of Robert Joshua Presley ENGLISH and Ida [SIMMONS] who married 16 Jun 1881. RJP English was the youngest child of Jonas ENGLISH & Martha [TODD]. Beulah, Mary Willie, and their siblings lived just on either side of the Texas/Louisiana border throughout their lives. After RJP English died, Mrs Ida [Simmons] English 2nd married William H. English 15 Jun 1902 and had a daughter Johnie [ENGLISH] who married Thomas MOORE. Johnie & Thomas lived in Sabine Parish, La all of their married life. Mrs Ida [Simmons] English English died before 1910. Wm H. ENGLISH was born in Mar 1856 Texas and died Jul 30 1930 in La? Tx? but he is buried in the Cassell Cemetery, Converse, Sabine Parish, La near his daughter Johnie and his step-dtr Mrs Mary Willie [English] Goodman. Now, I THINK Wm H. English MAY have been the son of William Thomas English & Eliza Jane [Phillips] who died in Texas but there were several W.H. English's born 1856 in Tx so this just conjecture at this time. .......any information about the above named cousins would be deeply, deeply appreciated!!! Please email me at kathye@crabbe.info

    1. [LACADDO] Doctor S. L. Wharton
    2. Carolyn Tregre
    3. I know this isn't exactly in your parish but kind of in your back yard. I am looking for info on Dr. S. L. Wharton. He died April 9, 1927 in Mansfield, DeSoto Parish. He was married to Gertrude. He was a dentist and the Death Cert. says he was born in DeSoto. I think he was 80 at death (death cert is hard to read). That would make his date of birth 1857 or so. This MIGHT be my gg uncle. The name my uncle has in the census records is Leonard but several members of the family are known by their middle names. The letter "L" and the date of birth both point in the direction of my relative. I would appreciate any help/information anyone of your subscribers can provide. Thank you Carolyn

In the book put out by the Friends of Genealogy, "Caddo Parise Louisiana Cemetery Records Volume I" there is a Greenwood Cemetery listed there. It is in Greenwood, La. Are these the same? The layout on the web page and the layout in the book of the cemetery are nothing alike. I am also looking for information on the Robertson family. I am getting absolutely nowhere! I think I found a land grant for a James Lafayette Robertson at this website http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/ Just do a search of James Robertson in LA and several will come up. Two are in Caddo and Bossier Parishes. James Lafayette Robertson was granted a land patent in 1874. There is also a James H. Robertson that was issued at patent in 1854. I believe one of these men is my great great grandfather, but I am not sure which one. All I know about my g g grandfather is that his name was James. His children were: Reuben T. born 1890 Euin Elvis (my great grandpa) born 1882 Jewel born ?? died 1939 Willie Mae born 1884 I am thinking James H. is my gggrandfather because one of Euin E.'s children is named James Harold. This is just a hunch. If you have any information about either of these James Robertsons, it would be greatly appreciated!
