While visiting in Arcadia in March 1999, I stopped by the Bienville Democrat newspaper offices. I was seeking to copy a couple of obituaries I need from 1924 and 1935. The newspaper office has not properly stored back issues and those from that time period are severely damaged and are probably destined for the trash heap. I saw them and they are in bad shape. I am told that LSU has back issues of the Bienville Democrat on microfilm. The trouble is finding someone who can go to the library at LSU in Baton Rouge and look these things up and copy them for me. If you know anyone in Baton Rouge area who would be willing to do that, please let me know. If you wish to subscribe to the Bienville Democrat, here is the information.
