    3. Hello Folks, I'm sending this message to several lists in the hopes that I will find out more about my great grandfather, Malcolm M. CURRIE. Born: ca 1841 according to 1880 Federal Census, Amite Co., MS. The death certificate of Johnson Edward CURRIE his son, states that his father's name was Malcolm CURRIE and that he was born in SC. Henderson) born ca 1865. Death: I have no death for Malcolm M. CURRIE. Children: Malcolm and Fannie had the following children all born in MS: M. A., son born ca 1869 Johnson Edward, son born ca 1870 N. F., son born ca 1873 M. E., dau born ca 1875 G. J., son born ca 1877 The 1880 Amite Co., census shows a niece named Vick Lofttin, age 10 born MS Johnson Edward CURRIE married in 1894 Bettie GIVENS who was born in Arcadia. He was Sheriff in Bienville Parish according to The History of Bienville Parish, by Billie Gene Poland and Carl P. CURRY. (I don't know if Carl is related or not) Johnson died in West Monroe, Quachita, LA and was buried in Arcadia, Bienville, LA. Johnson Edward and Bettie had the following children: Malcolm H. ca 1896, LA Willie E., ca 1898, LA Hattie C. ca 1900, LA John E., Jr., LA child, LA Jack, LA Stanley, LA Information from different sources show that there were CURRIE's in several MS counties. The name Malcolm runs through these families and well as the name Monroe, which is my father's middle name. I just know that his family is sitting in my notebook just waiting for me to find them. I just have not been able to connect my Malcolm M. CURRIE to these other Currie's. My father remembers there was some talk about some of the CURRIE's moving to Texas, county unknown.
