Hi Everybody, May I think out loud. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. The information I want must be in my notebook. I want to know: Who are the parents of my Malcolm M. CURRIE born ca 1841 in Mississippi and married Mrs. F. D. Henderson (Frances "Fannie" Day Henderson) in December 1867. ca 1841- Malcolm M. CURRIE was born in (unknown county) MS according to the 1880 Amite County, Federal Census. I need to look at the 1850 Federal Census and find my Malcolm M. CURRIE living with his parents. He would be listed as age 9 or 10. 11 DEC 1867 - Married Mrs. F. D. Henderson (Frances "Fannie" DAY) according to Amite County, MS marriage record. Malcolm was 26 when he married Frances. It makes sense that he was probably married before that. I see there is a Malcolm married to Amelia Ione Higdon. This is not my Malcolm who was in Amite Co., MS. The Malcolm who married Amelia was listed on the 1880 Franklin Co., MS census as being 50 (b. 1830). My Malcolm was born ca 1841. According to 1880 Amite County, Federal Census, Malcolm and Fannie had the following children: Male M.A., b. 1869, MS Male J. E., b. 1870, MS Male N.F., b. 1873, MS Female M.E., b. 1875, MS Male G. J., b. 1877, MS According to State of Louisiana death record, Johnson Edward (above as J. E.) b. 04 AUG 1870 was the son of Malcolm CURRIE. 1910 Bienville Parish, Federal Census my grandfather, Wayne Huff CURRIE (b. 1885, MS is listed as living in the household with his brother Johnson Edward Currie. I need to look at the 1900 Federal Census for Amite County, MS and see if Wayne is living with his parents, Malcolm M. Currie and Frances Day Henderson Currie. 1910- Wayne was a bookkeeper and single. When did he marry my grandmother, Gertrude Irene Pike. She was born 20 FEB 1891 and raised in Dyersburg, Dyer, TN. She was a student at the University of Tennessee from 1909 - 1911. They married some time between 1911 and 1916. I haven't been able to find a marriage record. You'd think they were married in Dyersburg. Where did they meet? Arcadia, Bienville, LA (where my grandfather was living) was a long way away from Dyersburg, Dyer, TN. Wayne Huff Currie was a Mason in the Arcadia Lodge #126. He was initiated on July 6, 1914, Passed August 1, 1914, raised October 3, 1914. His occupation was listed as Deputy Sheriff. This makes sense as his brother Johnson Edward was the Sheriff of Bienville Parish. Does anybody have information about the sheriffs in Bienville Parish, LA? Johnson Edward died May 5, 1947 in West Monroe, Quachita Parish, LA and was buried in Arcadia, Bienville, LA. May 15, 1917 Wayne Huff Currie was an Inspector on the Board of State Affairs. My grandparents are not on the 1920 Federal Census because they both died in NOV 1919. She died on the 22nd and he died on the 27th. THIS JUST IN from Patsy on the MsAmite County List: <<<<<<<<<One other bit: from GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN "Miss. Enterprise" 10 Dec. 1890: Died Friday, 5 Dec, 1890 at residence of WE Behrens, Dr. MM CURRIE, age 49 yrs. & 9 mo. Resided in Tilden, La, formerly of Amite.
