They married in Claiborne Parish around 1878. Minnie was born in 1858 to Oliver & Elsey Bailey. Oliver Bailey wass Choctaw Indian and Elsey Ghent-Wells Bailey came to Louisiana from Ghana, West Africa, she was then shipped to the island of Trinidad and was shipped to the Port of New Orleans where she was sold to then Governor of Louisiana, James madison Wells and his sisters in Rapides parish.
