New Braunfels is farther south than the Markham-Upshaw family lived in Texas. When they left Bienville Parish in 1867, they settle in Bell County, Texas. Some of the family, Nimrod Markham, apparently a brother of John B. Markham, settled in Limestone Co. Tx. Just found out recently, that James C. Markham, and older brother of John B. Markham, apparently never left Louisiana. Some of his descendants grew up there. John B. Markham and wife Sarah and their two oldest children, Permelia Ann and Emily, lived with James C. Markham and family on the 1850 census. Any descendants of John's brothers and sisters are welcome. We don't know who all of his brothers were. We think John B.' father was named John Markham, who was in White Co. TN in 1820 and in Alabama in 1830. John B. Markham married Sarah Upshaw in Noxubee Co Miss in 1843, and were in Bienville by 1849. Nimrod was also in Noxubee Co Miss in 1840. The reunion is being run by Charles Markham. Write to me and I will get you in contact with him. Thanks! David Morgan Link: Markham, Barber, Upshaw, Wood, etc URL: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dmorgan/>
