Am seeking information on the subject families. My husband's Franklin family came to Bienville Parish with Burkett relations in 1879. A number of his family are buried in Springhill Cemetery near Ringgold and what we refer to as the "old home place" was located 3-4 miles south of Lake Bistineau. His paternal Ggrandfather was Jefferson A. Jolley (b. 1862 in GA) who married Mary J (Mollie) Hinton (b. Ringgold, Bienville Parish, LA). Their daughter, Dennie Augustine Jolley (b. 7 May 1895 in Ringgold) married Homer Bryant Franklin (b. 21 Oct 1891 in the Ringgold area). These two are my husband's paternal grandparents. Now Bruce's Franklin line traces back as follows: 1. Mark (Martin) Franklin and Nancy Ann Stapleton 2. David Twigg Franklin and Sabra Ann Hampton 3. Ennis Napoleon Franklin and Millie Melinda (Malinda) Green 4. Homer Bryant Franklin and Dennie Augustine Jolley 5. Ovis Wayne Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Young 6. Ovis Bruce Franklin and Willisa Faye Strother A descendant of one of Nancy Stapleton's sisters also married into a descendant of the Jolley line. See the following: 1. Sarah Elizabeth (Betty) Stapleton and Joseph Burkett 2. Joseph Burkett, Jr and ________ 3. Henry Burkett (b 1880) and Ida Jolley Goss 4. Frank Marion Burkett and Rosa Murray I believe that Now I think that Mary Ann Jolley (30 Dec 1836 - 23 Jun 1926) and Francis M. Jolley (29 Dec 1831-20 Dec 1917), both of whom are buried at Springhill Cemetery with all our Franklins are probably the parents of Jefferson A. Jolley, Bruce's Ggrandfather. If you have any information on the Jolley family or the Franklin, Burkett, or Hinton lines, I'd love to hear from you. Am willing to share the information that I have. Lisa
