    1. [LABIENVI-L] Cambre Family
    2. J Perilloux
    3. Prudent B. Cambre, a native of Reserve, LA in St. John Parish, has been researching the Cambre family for many years. Michel Cambre and Mathias Cambre, natives of Germany, settled in St John Parish in the mid-1750s. Cambre family members can be found today in many parishes throughout Louisiana and in several other states. Prudent is planning on publishing a book on the Cambre family early next year and realizes that there is much information he doesn't have because of the fact that the family has spread far and wide. He is inviting anyone who has family information to provide it so that he can include it in the book. If you have information that you would like to submit, you can e-mail it to me at Jperilloux@home.com or snail mail it to: P.B. Cambre 2509 Broadmoor Drive Bryan, TX 77802 Since Prudent is 90 years old and he plans on starting publication early next year, time is of the essence. 1. [LABIENVI-L] ORRIAN COLLINSWORTH
    2. Hello List Members, Does anyone on this list have knowledge of the proof that Orrian / Oren COLLINSWORTH was actually born in Bladen County, NC in 1816? I checked the 1790, 1820 and 1840 Bladen County census at the FHC yesterday and found no Collinsworth listed at all.I have ordered in the 1800,1810 and 1830 records to take a look at them. Does anyone know if this family was in VA prior to coming to NC? Or when the COLLINSWORTH actually entered NC? Are we incorrect on it being Bladen County? Need HELP if you have it. Doris

    1. [LABIENVI-L] Hudson of Bienville
    2. Jolie Blanchard
    3. Hi Donna: I saw your posting about the Hudson connection on both the Talladega Co. list and this one, but only now finding a chance to respond. Let me just take just a moment to introduce myself and give you a few things I remember off the top of my head. I'll get back to you further once I have had a chance to look at my records. My name is Jolie Blanchard. I am a descendant of William Harrison Hudson, Jr., too. Elizabeth Hudson married William Newton Blanchard in Talladega Co., AL, where they raised their children and are buried. However, their son John Harrison Blanchard came to Bienville Parish in 1890 with his fledgling family not long after their relatives, the Hudsons, had come there. I, too, have the Hudson information you have and from the same source. I am not convinced, however, about the Petty marriage because separate research I have done and a letter I have that was written by John Harrison Blanchard mentions the name Turner, from Shelby Co., AL. According to the letter written in 1924, Nancy Turner(who our records show as Nancy Petty) had a brother Elijah Turner of Shelby Co. But I haven't got absolute proof of any of this yet. I just wanted you to know that I have a small doubt in my mind about Petty. History of Bienville Parish, Vol. III, is underway (author Mrs. Billie Gene Poland of Bienville Parish). I sent her the Hudson information and she plans to include it in the book. If you have any photos or memorabilia she could include in the book she would LOVE to have copies. Let me know if you would like to have her address. Pity, but she does not use a computer. Nice to meet you! Best of luck on your HINES research. I'll look to see if I have any other information that will be useful to you. Best regards, Jolie Blanchard Researcing Blanchard, Hudson, Arrington, Sumner in Talladega Co., AL and Bienville Par., LA ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

    1. [LABIENVI-L] Shipp in Bienville Parish
    2. Willis C. had a daughter by his first marriage who settled in Bienville Parish, La. I am searching for descendants of WILLIS C. SHIPP who was a lawyer in Dudleyville in 1850-1862. He was born in Pitt County, NC in 1812. He married CELETA E. GEORGE on Nov. 17, 1834 in Jasper County, Georgia. By the 1840 census was in Walton County, Georgia and by 1850 was in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. His children were; Sarah married GEORGE J. THOMPSON; Caroline died July 18,1851 buried in Old Dudleyville Cemetery, Burton W. married AMERICUS VICKERS; Mary Ann Melissa married AMOS IVEY; Lettie married JOHN THOMAS BOONE; Martha Jane married ELBERT Lovelace SHROPSHIRE; Selina married W. T. RIGGINS. Willis C. first wife died in 1858 and he married ROZILLA A. CLANAHAN, widow of WILLIAM CLANAHAN of Dadeville. They had two children Virginia and Walter. WILLIS C. SHIPP died in 1862. Willis C. Shipp had a son named Walter by his second wife Rozilla Clanahan. Walter was born after the 1860 census since he was not listed. I believe that this is the Walter Camel Shipp who settled in the Alabama community of Redland in North Bossier Parish.(Plain Dealing) Celeta George Shipp died on Jan.9, 1858 in childbirth . The still born infant is buried in the Old Dudleyville Cemetery along with Celeta and there dates of death match this information. He married Rosalla Clanahan on November 10, 1858. They had a daughter born in 1859. The 1860 census shows her to 10 months.

    3. Hello, Just joined so I'll get my feet wet. I'm seeking information about the family of Thomas Samuel Hine born March 15, 1837 Thomasville, Thomas Co., GA. and Sarah Ann Hudson born March 24, 1844 in Talledega Co., AL who were married on July 25, 1861 in Arcadia, Bienville Parish, LA. Thomas S Hine was a Corporal in Co. A, 28th LA Infantry during the Civil War. The parents of Sarah Ann Hudson were William Harris Hudson Jr. b VA and Nancy Petty b SC who married in Jefferson Co., AL, then it looks like they migrated to Shelby Co., AL, then Talledega Co., AL then to Bienville Parish, LA where Wm & Nancy died. ( Could be that some of the county lines moved instead of the family. I don't know.) Just now starting to search for information. Any information about these folks would be appreciated. donna

    1. Re: [LABIENVI-L] Dr. Joseph & E.G. Atkinson, m. Sept 1893
    2. Hello Curt, Most libraries that have a genealogical department, have lots on census records in file. If you have a Family History Center Library, they also have lots of material. If your 1900 and 1910 Census records are not readily available, they can be ordered in for your viewing. Cost is about 3.25-3.75 per roll and are rented for approxiamtely 30 days. Good luck in your search.
