    1. [LABIENVI-L] WIMBERLY, Mattie Jane
    2. The Macdonalds
    3. Thought I'd weigh in on this WIMBERLY thread. My great grandmother was Mattie Jane WIMBERLY MCKETHAN (b. 1855 Arcadia, Bienville Parish, LA d. 1923.) She married John Geddie MCKETHAN (b. 1845 Fayetteville, Cumberland, NC d. 1929) in Bienville Parish, LA. Does anyone show Mattie Jane WIMBERLY as a sister or daughter to your ancestor? I'd like to know the names of her parents and siblings and where they lived before Louisiana. Thanks for any help you can give.

    1. [LABIENVI-L] All This Stuff!!!
    2. Okay, I have gone back to 1809 with dates and stories with my family ( some stuff still needs to be filled in) and I have about 4 inches of papers stacked next to me. Can anyone recommend the best software for putting all my information on the computer? I also wondered how to go about putting this data on the internet for our family and friends. I've found the freepages of rootsweb but wondered if that is jumping the gun a little bit. As Easter is coming up I would like to have a printout for my family get together. Thank you all out there who have been so much help to me. GWhee111@aol.com

I am researching my Rigdon family, and found in the archives where numerous Rigdon people are buried in the Ebenezer, Ramah, and Old Saline Cemeteries. Since I found some dates on this archive site, I would like to find the obituaries on some of them, to see if they list parents and sibling names of the deceased, to try and find my lost family members. I am not familiar with Louisiana at all, so would need extensive info on the newspapers and their history, if someone would be so kind as to help me. I thank anyone in advance, that responds to my plea for help. Patti

    1. [LABIENVI-L] Wilson -Smithe- Louisiana 1838-
    2. jeanie
    3. Elaine, In re-reading your message, I found what might be a "clue" for me: You say one of your Smith's mar Wilson...I have a Smithe, Miriam A. (Adeline) Smithe who mar a Wilson abt 1897, which means she was probably born abt. 1874..She joined the DAR in 1920, thru the Cheney line.. "Auntie Wilson", as she was known to the family, lived on Kings Hwy in Shreveport, La. I believe she had a daughter...Eloise. Perhaps I can find a connection thru the Wilson's..who knows? My Miriam Smithe was sister to George H. Smithe, who married Daisy Shehee, my grandmother. In fact, my father was named for him. His name was Wilson Shehee Smithe.... I would like very much to find my Smithe's. The earliest ancestor of record I have is George H's father, who was: Capt.George W. Smithe, b. 1838,who married Mary H'eloise Larche (there were several Larche families in Pointe Coupe and Ouachita Parish.) in 1863, in Bienville Parish, La. He died in 1872. Believe Capt George W. Smithe was in Rapides Rangers reg in the Civil War. Sincerely, Jeanie Smithe Hardin PS Found these Wilsons...which may help someone.. Eloise Wilson b. June 6, 1919 d. Aug 2, 1993 Bossier City, Bossier Parish, La. Mary Wilson b. March 9,1899 d. Dec. 1972 Shreveport, Caddo Parish, La. Mary Wilson b. Nov 8, 1879 d. April 1969 Shreveport, Caddo Parish, La.
