I am somewhat familiar with the minutes of the conference meetings that you spoke of. Have you ever tried to contact the Red River Parrish Baptist Church association? It may be called something else now, but I'm pretty sure they would keep records from the old churches. Hi Kristin, Have you tried the Vital Records Registry in New Orleans for a copy of her birth certificate? Birth and death certs are not kept in the individual parishes but rather all are sent to New Orleans. I haven't heard that there was ever a fire down there that lost some records.....but perhaps I am wrong....or perhaps something in Bienville Parish burned before it was sent to N.O.? Hi to the list, I'm trying to research my grandmother's line and can get nowhere. My grandmother, Norma A. Masters was born in 1921/22 in Ringgold, Bienville Parish LA. I've heard a story that there was a fire where the birth records were kept and she's not even sure which year she was born. I only know one other bit of info, she had 5 sisters, Faye, Grace, Florence, Lucille, and a baby girl who died about at 1-2yrs old. Her parents are Isaac F. MASTERS and Nora F. REED. I have no marriage date nor where they were born. I do know they did die in LA, but not sure of where. I've put out postings on other web sites and no luck so.
