They are shown on the 1870 census. In 1853-54 Elexious had 158 acres of land in Bienville Parish. The Williams came from Mississippi. Their children included: John Wesley (Tobe) Williams born 1840--Clerk of Court in Bienville Pr.---never married. Elizabeth (Betty) born 1843 in Arcadia, Bienville Pr., La. Married Thomas Hastings Higdon in 1861; died 1895 in Simsboro, Lincoln Pr., La. Henry Clay born ? in Arcadia, Bienville Pr., La. married Mary Jane Houston in 1865; died 1887 in Natchitoches, La. Martha Ann born 1849 in Arcadia, Bienville Pr., La.; married a Mr. Braswell James born 1852 Bienville Pr. Daniel born 1855 Bienville Pr. William born 1857 in Bienville Pr. Thomas Givens born 1861 Arcadia, Bienville Pr., La.     3. Elexious Williams was born ca. 1812 in Mississippi. He married Mary Ann McCall (Polly Ballus). They were in Louisiana by 1843. In 1853-54 Elexious had 158 acres of land in Bienville/Lincoln Parishes, Louisiana. He and Mary Ann had the following children: John Wesley (Tobe) Williams --never married--Clerk of Court in Bienville or Lincoln Pr. Born 1840. Died 1920. Elizabeth (Betty) Williams--married Thomas Hastings Higdon--born 1843 in Bienville Pr.; Died 1895 in Lincoln Pr. Henry Williams--married Mary Jane Houston---born Bienville Pr.; Died 1887. Martha Ann Williams--married a Mr. Braswell---born 1849 Bienville Pr. James Williams--born 1852 Bienville Pr. Daniel Williams--born 1855 Bienville Pr. William Williams--born 1857 Bienville Pr. Thomas Gwens Williams---married Emma Josephine Dison---born 1861 Bienville Pr.; died 1927 Mary Williams---married Thomas Chappel---born 1864 Bienville Pr. All the above information is based on the 1870 Census as well as personal knowledge of my Uncle Arnold Higdon who searched out this information over a 30 year period of time. I have an index entry from the Bienville index of marriages which is as follows: 8-Dec 1863 Elias MURPHY Laura Ann KOONCE Did Elias remarry or is this his son?
