My oldest cousin remembers that "Uncle Walter's folks moved, he believed to northern La. or southern Arkansas and possibly changed their name. If you would like I can call back down there for a few more details. I failed to write down the name he took, but, I can get it for you. I found a picture you had of gg-grandpa Ira and gg-grandma "Basha". I hope it was o k to send a copy to my siblings and children. I would like to get photos of any of the brothers and sisters of grandma Sina Maybelle Cooley Ware's, as well as, g-grandpa William Arthur Cooley and g-grandma Lucinda Alston Cooley. I have a nice photo of Grandpa and Grandma Ware here in my study. As soon as I get my scanner up I will send you one or better yet I may take them and get them put on disk. I took a picture of my mother's oldest sister, Myrtis Coleman (just turned 85). My nephew and his family left yesterday for Akutan, Ak. He is a pastor there. My sister has a picture of the home place before it was sold after my dad's death. I am looking for one from the 50's. Let me hear from you. Also, my phone is 972-691-0911. I'm not working on the family of Elijah, but I have the following information on him and his family: Elijah J. Thompson is buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery. He married Mary Amelia Lyles, date unknown. She was born about 1865 in LA, date of death unknown, reportedly buried in the Lyles Cemetery at Barnes Creek, LA. She was a daughter of Jesse Johnson Lyles and Mary M. Dunnehoo. Elijah and Mary Amelia had a daughter named Alice, who married John Holloway Heard, date unknown. Alice, John, and their 4 children are all buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery. Elijah's father's name is unknown, but he is reportedly buried in the National Cemetery at Vicksburg, MS. Elijah's mother was Martha E. (?) Thompson. She is also buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery. You can get more information on these folks by checking the annotated Dry Creek listing on my web site at http://home.att.net/~lvhayes/home.htm. LV Hayes <lvhayes@worldnet.att.net>

My Mom and I went to the DeRidder City Hall and looked at a map of the cemetery and showed them where my great grandfather was buried (they has his name wrong). We also show them a copy of my great grandmother's obit that stated she was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in DeRidder. We were allowed to put up a marker beside my greatgrandfather for my great grandmother. The people at city hall were very helpful and gracious.
