Centennial books available at City Hall Some copies of the commemorative book, "DeRidder, Louisiana - The first 100 years, 1903-2003," which was published in conjunction with DeRidder's recent centennial celebration, are available at DeRidder City Hall. The books, which were compiled by local historian Joe Warren, are priced at $20 each. The 410-page book contains nearly 1,000 photos of events, places and people involved in DeRidder's history.

The book was prepared by a committee and is 8 1/2 X 11 inches, an inch thick and has 410 pages of b & w photographs and narratives about the city and its people. I'm looking for specific date of death and place of burial info on Elizabeth Hefley Hendricks who I believe to have been a resident of DeRidder at the time of her death. Hendricks and also list a niece, Mrs Robert Crosby, of DeRidder who I assume to be Elizabeth's daughter. Elizabeth's daughter was also named Elizabeth.... from 1930 Census data. I noted the name of Robert Crosby within webpages for First United Methodist Church of Deridder an speculate that this may be the same family.
