Location-2 miles east of JUnction on the Merryville Road in the fall of 1912. Horses belong to Mrs. Lizzie Eaves. I have read that Abel and John and their families left Tennessee and went to Mississippi; then, to Sugartown, Louisana. I am looking for any info on Abel and Leah Lee Hill. Did they, too, come to Louisiana? Their son, John Alexander Hill, is listed on the 1860 Calcasieu Parish Census. I appreciate any information and thanks! Frances Hill Crook samcrook@sbcglobal.net

I think we have the same family but am not positive. Thanks for the reply.

Now, years later, I am trying to find as much info as possible about the above surnames, located in Calcasieu, Vernon, Beauregard, and Allen Parishes. I would also like to find any relatives or descendants of the following: My g-g-grandfather, John Alexander Hill and wife, Martha Ann Box, are listed on the 1860 Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, Census. I am looking for parents and/or siblings of both "Alexander"/ "Alex" Hill and Martha Ann Box. Does anyone have any info on their son, Asa, called "Ace" Hill? My g-grandfather, was Nicholas Monroe (N.M.) Hill and his wife, Marietta/Mary Etta McCollough/McCullough. Was she the daughter of Leslie McCollough/McCullough? My grandfather, William Alexander Hill, married Lucinda Reed, daughter of William Franklin Reed and Lydia Martin. My g-g-grandfather was Valentine Reed. Does anyone have any additional info - who were his parents? his wife's name? My grandfather, William Alexander Hill, was a deacon in Arkadelphia Baptist Church. Does anyone have any Church records? Does anyone have info on which "Hill" donated land for the Hill-Mathis Cemetery? I do have some info and will share. I will appreciate any additional information. I do not have a date. George Edward went by Ed. He died in 1971 in Beauregard Parish LA. Both he and Gussie are buried in the Cannon Cemetery in Beauregard Parish. Gussie was b 18 Dec 1899 in Calcasieu Parish (now Beauregard) and died 29 May 1970. She was the daughter of Samuel Jefferson and Mary Magdalene Hennigan Meadows. Ed and Gussie had one daughter, Mary Jo born 1924 or 1925 and now deceased, who married Billy Gore. Mary Jo and Billy have one daughter, Molly Dell born about 1953. Gussie was my husband's aunt. I would be interested in information you have on Ed's siblings and parents. My mother-in-law was a Nichols but they don't appear to have been related. You state he was born in Texas but he said in the 1920 and 1930 census that he was born in Louisiana. I didn't ask him when he was living and noone else in the family seems to know for sure.

It seems that all of us have the same info on Richard Green (from Russell O. Faulkner's info back in the 60s), but no further info on his lineage or his wife, Virginia Ann Harrison. I have some theories on whom Virginia's parents are, but none on Richard's. I did connect with a person who was a descendant of his friend and fellow "ship jumper," and she tried to tie them back in England on possible War of 1812 muster ship rolls, but no luck. So, we are guessing that they jumped off a merchant ship, maybe one where they had been "pressed" on board. Anyway, I am always asking does anyone have any pictures of these people or their kids. Would love to see anything. Anyway, write me back privately at my e-mail address. Would like to share info. Kim
