Some of the ones from Arkansas also spelt their name "Stracner" instead of Stracener. We all descend from Henry Strayson/Strassner/etc. from North Carolina. His sons immigrated from Tennessee, down to Alabama, then to Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. I am not personnally familiar with Doug, though. But I could look up his lineage, if he wants to know. A lot of the Straceners married into the Cole, Simmons & Green families. Kim

I hope he is doing better. I don't know if he remembers my Uncle Otis Stracener (oldest son of Daniel Irvin and Louise Della Mitchell and born in Kipling), but he passed away a few weeks ago, just one month after his wife, Merle McGill, died. Haven't done much research lately on the Green line, but have picked up some new info on the James Cole/Jemina Curtis line due to adding info to a DAR & DRT supplement. Kim

He is still alive, not in the best of health and still has an excellent memory. I remember Aunt Laura as a very sweet person and thought the world of Uncle Chick. Maybe my Dad has some inside information, which I will not post on the message board if it's personal. If you have anything missing about the Greens, please let me know and I'll ask my Dad. He is 79 now and just had another stroke, so he is living with me. He has books and books of research he did before my Mom died. Mary Jo Faulkner Steele
