First of all, James Monroe Randolph was born ca 1869 in LA rather than 1871. I found him on the 1870 census in Sabine Parish [Many Post Office]. His mother, Mary, was a widow and there were three other children in the household. They were...Mary J. [ca 1857 LA], Luvina A. [ca 1862 TX] and John G. [ca 1864 TX]. In 1860 I found the family in Rusk Co., TX, - Mt. Enterprise Post Office. The father was John G.[ca 1830 Tennessee], the mother was Mary A. [ca 1837 LA] and the children were...Margaret E. or Martha [ca 1852 TN], Samuel E. [ca 1855 LA] and Mary J. [ca 1858 LA]. It is more than likely that Mary was the second wife of John and that the two older children were from the first marriage. In 1870, these two children were in a household near the family. In 1880 the family was in Sabine Parish. In the household were Mary A. [49, LA MA GA], John [15, TX TN LA] and James M. [11, LA TN LA]. By 1900, James and Ida Mitche! ll were married and living in St. Landry Parish. They had three of the four children you mentioned in your post. The other girl must have been born after 1900. In 1910, I did not find any members of the James Randolph family. In 1920 [Allen Parish] and 1930 [Vernon Parish], I found Robert Lee Randolph and his family. His wife was Josette [ca 1891]and his three children were...Vernon [ca 1916], Helen [ca 1918] and Vera [1920]. In 1900 and 1910 I found the families of John G. Randolph [ca 1864] and Samuel E. Randolph [ca 1855]. John had 4 children and Samuel had at least 10 children. They were all in Sabine Parish. In 1910, I found what looks like Ida Garner [Ida Randolph], bn ca 1872.
