Anyway, the research department has been great about helping me with articles that I need. All they have charged me is the cost of a copy and the mailing fee. Less than $1.00 anyway. Of course if you have a date of death, would make it easier. They also have a website, but can't remember it at the moment. You might try the Social Security Death Index. Another place you should be able to call is the funeral home that handled the funeral. Most of them are willing to give dates of death and other public info. Marksville is a small town, so it shouldn't be hard to find the funeral home. Good Luck.

I don't have their address readily available; however, you should be able to look it up on the internet. I believe they have a web site so you could do a search or you could look in at www.whitepages.com. At one time, there was a newspaper in Marksville, called The Weekly News. I do not know if this newspaper continues today. If it is still in business, this would be another place you could look for an obit. You could most likely find their address also on the internet. The Vital Records Registry, P.O. Box 60630, New Orleans, LA 70160, has death certificates from 1914, and since you are a brother, you should be able to get a copy of his death certificate. You would need to call them at 504-568-5391 to verify the fee for a death certificate. I hope this helps you get started. Good luck!
