She is buried next to Sareil Laborde. There is also next to Sareil their daughter, Isadee Laborde. Unfortunately, there are no dates for these three. Perhaps Cyprien had a nickname of Sareil??? Hope this helps.

Ingoof. It is an odd name. The only other one I show is Amilcar Broutin is 11 years in the 1870 census of Orleans parish and the son of Alfred Broutin and Claire Cailleteau Ingoof, (who is Irene's mother, Amil's grandmother). I have no other information on either boy. Plese let me know if you find out anything, and I will let you know.

They had at least two sons, Emeric born about 1919 and William R. born about 1923. I found them on the 1920 census in Avoyelles Parish. The 1930 census for East Feliciana parish shows Laura living with her father and her two sons. Although she is listed as married, Sidney is not in the household. Joseph Darius Mayeux's parents, Henry Mayeux and Adelaide Firmin, were found in the 1860 Avoyelles Parish Census in Marksville, LA, P. O. Box 421 Henry Mayeux, b. Abt. 1828, s/o Zelien Mayeux I and Celestin Firmin, m. date unknown, Adelaide Firmin, b. Abt. 1839, d/o George Firmin and Marie Josephe Broussard. I have listed 5 children for this couple: Dates indicate this information was found on the census. Delphine Mayeux b. 1854 in Avoyelles Parish - Marksville, LA Joseph darius Mayeux, b. Abt. 1856, Avoyelles Parish - Marksville,LA. I have a note that Joseph m. 22 Nov 1877 in Avoyelles Parish, Magdeleine Victoria Ducote, her parents are unknown. This is a donated family file and I have not confirmed this marriage. Marius Mayeux, b. Abt. 1858, Avoyelles Parish, Marksville, LA, m. date unknown Amelie (Lilly) Dumartrait. Marriage is unconfirmed. Adelaide Mayeux, b. Abt. 1861, Avoyelles Parish, Marksville, LA Cyrus Mayeux, b. Abt. 1863 in Avoyelles Parish, Marksville, LA d. Oct. 1944 in Evangeline Parish, bur. Tee Mamou Cemetery, Ville Platte, Evangeline Parish, LA. Cryus' may have married Alicia Juneau. Before he died, Anward Mayeux, Sr. asked me to research his family. Cyrus is one of his ancestors. While in Louisiana, I visited the Tee-Mamou cemetery looking for birth and death dates for Cyrus and his wife. Anward knew her only as "Gram" and he thought she was a Juneau. Anward's wife thought "Gram" had a name something like Alicia or Lucia. Unfortunately, on their tombstones, they were identified only as Mr. & Mrs. Cyrus Mayeux, and only his death date was recorded on a metal cross attached to his grave. Her birth date was not recorded and although her death year was recorded, there was a metal screw over the last digit of her year . I have it listed as bet. 1950-1959. I guessed she was born abt. 1867. I have traced this family back to Pierre Mayeux, b. 06 Aug1699, Maintenoy, Amiens, Picardy, France. Pierre d. 16 Dec 1747 in Avoyelles Parish, LA, bur. St. Francis of Pointe Coupee Catholic Church, New Roads, LA. Pierre m. About 1721 in France, Marie Anne Cellier aka Sellier. Marie was born Abt. 1700 in France, d. 27 Jan 1738/39, bur. with Pierre in PC. Point Coupee records can be found in Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records.
