Alfred Jeff Mayeux was the son of Sosthene Z. Mayeux and Azelia Laura Areaux. Jeff was the grandson of Zenon Mayeux and Azeline Duplechin. According to "Family Tree" in Ancestry.com Jeff married Eva Mayeux, b1906 and had one child Verlie Mayeux,b.abt 1928. Then it shows he married Una Lemoine b.1909. She could have been the mother of Gertrude Mayeux (graduated at Marksville Hi in 1946 and Davis Mayeux g. 1950. Then it shows he married Josephine Hayes, b.1915 and married in1947. It also shows Jeff was born Apr 5, 1902 and died Oct 9,1964. Jeff also had a brother, Harris Mayeux, b.1898 married to Mary Dupuy,b.1900. Some of Harris' children were Hudson, who worked for Central State Life Ins. Grace who married Joe Panichella and Laura who married Raymond Gremillion. Hope this will help you.

There was a Jean Baptiste and Jean Pierre but to my knowledge their is no other info on Jean Pierre after his marriage to Marie Duplechin in 1774 and Jean Baptiste born 1757 died 1759. I only mentioned Joseph, George and Mathurin because they were the only ones to have decendents.. Jeanette

I was happy to see this post. One of my ancestral grandfathers is Mathurine Guillot, I have no documentation after that. I have no parents for him although I have him married to Francoise Juneau. I have traced her back a long way, but no documentation. Can you shed any light on this line? My other Avoyelles names are: Bordelon, Jeansonne, Saucier, Gaspard, Juneau, Joffrion, etal. The caption reads: "The Forrest Dupuis building, built in 1912. It served as a grocery store, dance hall, and mortuary." The photo is credited to Betty Mims. I do not know if this is what you are looking for but the photo was taken in or near Marksville and contained one of the surnames listed in your post. I can scan the image if you want. Jeanne
