Her father was Joshua Duplissey, his father Adolph--on back to Dominique. Her brothers were Buren(?), Theodore, and I believe Otis..sisters Hattie, Lula, and Gladys. I believe that we are from the same family line as she has always spoke of her relatives. In talking with her, she said that Dominique was an admiral of a ship, and he was killed with a knife. I always believed she was speaking of a battle but did not ask when I was younger. I think that she is your great aunt, and she is still alive as of today! She also has said that Dominique and his brother actually helped found Marksville, not just lived near there. Would love to speak with you!

When he entered service he gave Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Soldier:LEONARD PAUL GARCIA Born:December 11, 1921, Caucasian Date of loss: Sept. 27, 1950, KIA When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The Garcia family is one of those missing. When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency. I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family. Thank you for your nice comments about the condition of the cemetery. My husband and the "nice lady at the tourism office" were responsible for the renovations to the fence and area surrounding the cemetery. It has been an ongoing project for my husband and his brother to keep it in this condition.

So far I understand she had a sister Minnie. The only Ora and Minnie I can find are listed are Ora KNIGHT and Minnie BORROUGHS daughters of Annie BORROUGHS. But, the 1920 lists Ora as GODEAU, a boarder. age 25 and single. Does anyone have ideas as to where to write or lookup marriage information on Martin and Ora? Their only son Kenneth was born 5Sep1923. I believe he was actually born in Evergreen, Avoyelles Parish and was named the same as his father and later changed the order from Martin Kenneth to Kenneth Martin. He was first married to a women named Besty or Beula if I remember correctly, don't know a surname.
