The cemetery does face the Cocoville Road so it may be with St. Paul's Catholic Church. If you could possibly find out about where in the cemetery this person or people are buried, I don't mind going there to take pictures of the headstones. Whenever I go to my mother's in Marksville, maybe we can take a ride over there, it's not far. Let me know if you can find out anything. Debra

Found plenty of info on Mansura - in fact, more than I ever needed to know - lol. Also found CoCoville, believe it or not, but nothing mentioning this cemetery. I've found a few cemeteries nearby but location is too far off to be this one. I tried a name posted at one of the cemeteries listed in CoCoville, but the contact information wasn't valid. Aagghhh. BTW, I located a map & your directions matched to a T...(some landmarks were noted but not the cemetery). I think I could probably drive right to it except it would be about a 4/5 hour drive.....phoned a cousin that at least lives in LA & suggested he take a drive down there & look for me - he suggested I must be out of my mind. hahahahah Anyway, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I surely thank you for your help - this is very kind of you.

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.louisiana.parishes.avoyelles/1060.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The only place I know of in Avoyelles Parish called Old River is in Mansura. Old River is an area with boat landings, camps, camping areas, etc. The cemetery is at the beginning of the road, you can see it from the highway. The road is called Old River Road. The area around there is called CoCoville, a community. Taking Hwy.1 in Marksville, go until you get to red light that turns to downtown Mansura. To go downtown, you would turn right but to go to Old River, you would turn left. Not very far down, is the Old River Road to the right. The cemetery is on the left after turning on this road. I hope this helps, I'm not the best at giving directions. If you want to know more, maybe call the City of Mansura. I don't know if there is a certain church involved with this cemetery or not. It is located in Hessmer. Take the Main road in Hessmer, next to St. Alphonse Catholic Church is a small road between the cemetery. After a little while on the road where the houses are, you will then come to wooded area and a gravel road that goes beside Lake Pearl. Once getting to the end of the road, you will come out by a bridge (I forgot what that area is called) and the highway is 115 going to Bunkie. The road just makes a big loop. My father's (Thomas Ducote) family is from that area. I'm not sure about any Rabalais's living there.
