Mr. Boudreaux, I am writing on behalf of individuals who have families buried in the St. Louis 2 & 3 cemeteries, I understand why the renovation has to take place, cemeteries get old and need to be refreshed again. But I implore you before this is ever to take place, to please do you upmost best to contact relatives who have families buried there. If I had a family member there, I would certainly be most concerned as I feel strongly that a burial spot is scared and should not be destroyed. There is also some historical value here to consider. While I realize the "decay" of the vaults are unsightly to surrounding residents, what about the history that will be destroyed? New Orleans is one of the most historic cities in this country and like no other. It also has a longer history that most cities. I just wanted to share my feelings with you and I pray that you and your office will be able to contact "live" family members of their relatives buried there before this all starts. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Kathie Wilcox LVHS72@aol.com
