I would like to get the straight of it. Daisey Purl CONEY (McCANTS) b 16 Dec 1874 d 5 Jun 1910. Several stories evolved about her death, none have been checked or verified. One is that she drowned herself in the creek behind her father's home in Magnolia, MS. Another says she hung herself in her cell at the insane asylum; and a third says she drowned herself in Lake Ponchatrain near Mandeville, LA while living at the insane asylum. My guess is that she probably suffered post depression after the birth of her last child, Daisey. josie
