    3. Grand Woods was located on the east side of Bayou Teche south of Franklin, LA (in St. Mary Parish). It was located just opposite the town of Calumet, LA . Grand Woods had a post office between 1875-1877 with the first postmaster being Robert GOOCH. in 1875 Grand Woods population was 250 people. After the post office was discontinued in 1877 the mail was then sent to Franklin, LA. Source: book, LOUISIANA POST OFFICES by John J. Germann, 1990.
