I just want to thank everyone that respond to my cry for help. I really appreciated it. I got directions, names of libraries to access. Librarians names-always helpful. HELPFUL HINTS. VERY HELPFUL Hints. I can't wait-I can't wait I live in Oklahoma. I have never been to a small town in my life-I can't imagine what that will be like. Biloxi is the smallest 'town" I have ever lived in. Yeah, I know not very small. I was reared on military bases. I was around the family about every 3 years when we moved to another base. This is why I do genealogy- I needed to know the family better. Amite is where my grandparents were raised -- I want to see this place. My g-g-g-grandparents were slaves there-I still want to see it. I have never been on a farm- I have to see the area. I will visit relatives-the suggestion was made that I spend time with my relatives - Great suggestion -- because the orginal plan was to pop in and pop out. That will be altered.
