Hi, I am researching the names: COSSLETT, FARVE, and HEDGES in the Louisiana (Acadia, Lafayette & Jefferson Davis Parishes) area. I sent for copies of marriage documents and probate documents in the Acadia and Lafayette Courthouses, expecting to find some background, i.e. parents names, mother's maiden name, country of origin, etc. The copies I received only showed the people who were married, their witnesses, the justice of the peace, or minister, the date and place of marriage. In PA, I have gotten copies of the "Marriage License Application" which did show all the info I listed above. Now, I'm wondering if I should have requested the application instead of the marriage document. Does anyone know if the applications in LA list all this data, and if I should resubmit my request?
