Hi Listers. Thanksgiving Day, I was in Shreveport, when my cousin and our uncle decided that we should go to see the cemetery where some of our ancestors are buried. Well it was allegedly 15 minutes from our hotel--ONE HOUR later, driving the backroads of Bossier Parish, in driving rain, WE FOUND IT!! (I have condensed the telling here). Nancy and I descended into the rain with umbrellas in hand and traipsed through the mud, perusing the headstones, there were/are several areas that are enclosed with fences, in the bushes, behind the trees,--you get the picture. After observing all of the headstones out in the open, ever intrepid, I slogged through the leaves, vines, bushes and trees, up to the RIGHT fence, and FOUND a Snyder headstone. Yeah!! I then climbed over the decorative fence and stood amidst some of our history. I think I took some rain drenched photos, will know when I get the film developed, and we plan to go back soon with her son, a professional photographer. I came home and looked at the cemeteries for Bossier Parish and this one does not seem to have been listed. I have talked to Cheramie and know that one needs a microcassette recorder to list this cemetery, is there anything else we need, and how does one go about doing a list? Any help or advice accepted. It is located on Mount Zion Road, about one mile from the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. It is a few miles from Houghton. Nancy has the exact directions. Reply to: Shadancer@aol.com
