    3. Many years ago the Murrays lived in Independence, where I met and married a "native" of Independence..........don't know if they were born there or not. Nicholas Murray/Murry published (also owned, I believe) the Independent newspaper for years, wrote his column on hunting forbears. They lived across the street from the elementary school, I knew them slightly, they had 4 sons. Dorothy Murray was in our Tangipahoa Chapter DAR but was in failing health by the time I became active in 1985. They had moved to Hammond in later years and he published the Hammond Vindicator till it was sold. She died first, them some time later he died. Their son, Nick, lives in Kentwood, I met him at a Tangipahoa Parish Genealogical Society meeting 3-4 years ago, Delll Magee Clawson who wrote the "The Fields of Broom" was speaker that night in Kentwood and he was there. I don't recall the Murrays ever moving to Utah.........could have but I never heard about it, I'm pretty sure they were living here when they died. This is the way I remember them, anyway. I have never seen their book but used to read his column, once in a while, many years ago.........My memory my not be too accurate, but this is the way I remember them.........
