    3. Le Comité des Archives de la Louisiane is happy to announce the publication of its new book, Civil Birth and Death Registers for the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 1874-1918. This is a list of births and deaths recorded in the city's registers now housed at the Louisiana State Archives in Baton Rouge. The birth registers cover the years 1874 to 1918 while the death registers cover the years 1874 to 1914, with a few years not represented. Information extracted from the birth registers includes the name of the child, date of birth, parents' names (when given), and page number of the original record. Information extracted from the death registers includes the deceased's name, age, date of death, parents' names (when given), and page number of the original. The book is soft-cover, 348 pages, fully indexed, and contains an introduction by Judy Riffel. The non-member price is $32.50 postpaid. Current (2001) Le Comité members pay $27.50. Order blanks are included in the April 2001! issue of le Raconteur. Non-members wishing to join and order the book at the member price, should send a total of $42.50.
