    2. I had tried to trace Sarah Ellen Stewart B. 31 May 1877 at Harnett, North Carolina, she died 8 Feb 1929 there at Harnett, North Carolina. Sarah Ellen married about 1897 to John Sanders Norris B. 4 July 1875 also in Harnett and passed from this life on 12 Oct 1942 in Harnett. I do not know who the parents of Sarah Ellen were but think they were William Hinton Stewart and Harriet Moore, but have no proof just think that this is true. I do know that there is a grade school in Dunn, Harnett Co., North Carolina that was named in memory of Sarah. I hope this helps someone and if someone has any information on this family I would appreciate any help. Nellie

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] Looking for a long lost cousin- BARRAS
    2. I'm looking for a man by the name of Wilfred Barras (Barra). He was born an only child in 1916 somewhere in Southwest Louisiana. He is the son of Eugene Clebert Barras and Lena or Elea (Elodea) Catalon. When Clebert married Elea (Elodie) Catalon 5 April 1893 in Maurice, Louisiana (Lafayette Parish), he claimed that his father was Julien Barras. They only had one child who was named Wilfred Barras bn ca. 1816 possibly in Iberville Parish where the 1920 census found the family. The family story has it that Clebert's wife died sometime while Wilfred was very young at which time Clebert pursued and possibly married Elea's sister Lena Catalon. Clebert died 25 Oct 1939 in a hospital in Lafayette. His death certificate stated that he was a resident of Ridge, Louisiana in Vermillion Parish. Shortly after the death of his father, family stories say that Wilfred joined the military. He was not seen or heard from since the death of his father with the exception of coming home once or twice for the funeral of a favorite relative. He was supposed close to a pair of cousins, Lazaird LaSalle and Oliver Daigre LaSalle, the sons of his father's sister Marie Louis Fontenot. Descendants of Wilfred Barras have not been located thus far. The family is not sure if he ever married. Wilfred would be about 83yrs by now. He has not been found in the SSDI and the military won't give me any information on him so he must be still living. I most certainly hope anyone can help me with finding him. Cherryl
