    1. Re: [LA-LGHS-L] St. Louis Cemetary # 2 (oops!!)
    2. Hey... I noted the address you mentioned for your grandfather... well... my great grandmother lived on Robertson... this as found on the 1900 census... I had my mother while visiting New Orleans go and photograph "ALL" the family addresses I had found over the years... it was a great thing to add to the family tree.... to see the old homes where once family lived.. 1. [LA-LGHS-L] St. Louis Cemetary # 2 (oops!!)
    2. I feel like the biggest fool. Thanks anyway to everyone that Emailed me on the # 3 Cemetery. The information was much appreciated. But after my second cup of coffee, I read it was St. Louis Cemetery #2! So I did go visit # 3 today it is very well kept. Its a beautiful place. Now I had the crazy idea that I would pass the house where my grandfather was born 168 N. Robertson ( in New Orleans) I could have been shot in this neighborhood. & to top it off, I could not find his house # ... As I was searching , I passed St. Louis Cemetery # 2. It was locked. I didnt get out of my car. There were lots of shady characters around. I find it a crying shame that I cant visit my ancestors because of CRIME! I have to admit, I was driving in fear of this bad neighborhood. I tried to stop to see the hours but someone was in back of me & they had pulled out of the projects that are next to the cemetery . So here I am In one piece safe & sound might I add But back to square one. I was told I could visit on a holiday that they have a guard then. Any one have any ancestors in the St. Louis #2, & how do you visit them? PS thanks for the cemetery inquiries. Barbara M. Borel

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] MOULEDOUS Theresa;LA,USA;1862-1890
    2. Hello I am searching for info like a death certificate on Theresa Mouldeous. She was born in France ( excact place unknown) she married Joseph Borel. At some point ( im not sure if she was married here or in France But she resided with Joseph Borel at N. Robertson St. in N.O. and had 4 children that I know of ( 1 set of twins) Rene Jean & Marie Felecite', Frank Borel & Felecea Borel. I was told by family members that she died during child birth . I have no proof on this . After this, the children were put in an orphanage. I have an obituary of my Grand father and one of his brother & they both say there were 2 girls & 2 boys ( Rene & Frank & the girls were named Marie & Felicea) Its very strange to me that the twin girl be named Marie Felecite' & the second girl be named Felecite' or Felecea. I would like any infor on her death & birth if anyone happens to have this info? Barbara M. Borel

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] BOREL Joseph; LA,USA; 1856-1890
    2. Hello I am searching for information on my great-grandfather. His name is Joseph Borel Born in France (exact place unknown) he was born approximately 1856. He was married to Theresa Mouledous also born in France (around 1862) They resided in N.O. at some point on N. Robertson Street. They had 4 children that I know of ( Rene Jean Borel & Marie Felecite' Borel were born twins 11/22/1885. I do know that at some point, Therese Mouledous died ( I was told during child birth ( but dont have proof) & the children were placed in St. Anne Orphanage. My grandfather only saw his father one more time on his death bed. with the children being put in an orphanage, & my father being the youngest in his family & me being the youngest in mine, its hard to get accurate info from the family. Their are 2 mysteries at this point Im trying to solve 1.) Rene Jean Borel ( my grandfather ( who died before I was born by the way in 1967) had an obituary that said, he had 1 brother & two sisters. ( Frank Borel, Marie Borel ( who married into the Stuprich Family) & the other sisters name was Felicea Borel who married into the Flithers or Flitchers family.) I am new to genealogy but it seems strange if the twin is named Marie Felecite' & then another child's 1st name be Felecea or Felecite' ? 2.) My other search is I know from my grandfather certificate that My great grandparents were natives of France. How can I find out what part of France? & how do I get certificates for them? Well any feedback would be greatly appreaciated!! Thanks Barbara M. Borel

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] Brick wall / Twins at birth
    2. my grandfathers obituary Rene Jean Borel showed 1 brother and 2 sisters. When I got his birth certificate, He was born 11/22/1885 & it showed he was a twin ( fraternal) the other baby was named ( Marie Felicite' Borel) In he and his brothers obituaries, they both have the 2 sisters named in it. One is Marie & one was Felicite. So I would natrally assume that Marie would be his twin. But would it be common to name a second born female the middle name of the first born female ( The 1st girl was born 1885). I have a theory that perhaps the female twin died & the mother named her next 2 females from the 1st & middle name of the dead child.I have no proof of this so I must assume the Marie in the Obit was my grandfathers twin. At some point, the mother died & the children were put in an orphanage. My question is, Not really knowing if the twin died, how can I get records on her death with out a date ( if she even did die at birth) Also I have the 2 sisters marriage names in the obits but how can this help me with out dates of marriage. I want to know if this marie is his twin. I have a feeling she is not .

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] FYI
    2. I have not tried this, but someone may want to check it out. This article is from Everton's Family History Newsline. Convert Your GEDCOM Files to HTML For years the GEDCOM file format has been the standard way of transferring genealogical data between computers -- even if those computers use different genealogy programs. And of course, HTML is the "language" of the World Wide Web -- the standard interface for sharing most resources using the Internet. There are full-fledged programs that allow you to convert your GEDCOM file to HTML so you can display it on the Internet. But what if you don't need a whole new program? What if you just want a small utility you can use with your existing software to produce HTML files of your family history? If that's what you want, then GedHTree, by Gary Welker, may be just the package you're looking for. GedHTree is a relatively small program (about 200 kilobytes for the download file) written with Microsoft's Visual Basic that does a very good job of producing attractive Web pages (HTML files) using raw GEDCOM files created by other genealogy programs. GedHTree allows you to display your family data in a number of formats, from pedigree charts to family groupings to individual listings with an alphabetic index. Best of all, GedHTree is a shareware program, so you can download a copy immediately and try it out to see if it will do the job you want it to do. And if you like it, registration is very reasonable -- just under US$15. For the Web-connected genealogist, GedHTree is worth a look. 3. Hello, I'm looking for ancestors named Frederick L. Sulpice and Blanche Belin. They had four children. Blanche, jr. by an earlier marriage, then Frederick Leon, Henry George and Eugenie. They lived in New Orleans in the 1860's to 1890's and they owned several businesses. I have searched immigration lists and cannot find the ship they came on, cannot find any parents for Frederick or Blanche, nor can I find out where they are buried. Thank you for any help. Carol †

    1. [LA-LGHS-L] Frederick L. Sulpice
    2. Carol L Hustus
    3. Frederick L. Sulpice was born in Paris France in 1839. He was next found in New Orleans in 1860. Shortly thereafter he married Blanche Belin, Bellin, Borut, or Bourot. She was 8 years his senior and it is unclear what her maiden or previously married name was. She had Blanche, Jr. She and Frederick had 3 children: Frederick Leon, Henry George and a daughter Eugenie. Blanche, Sr. evidently immigrated to USA in 1849. When the children were young, they traveled back to Paris for a visit. This family had businesses: optical and surveying instruments, and a notions store after the death of Henry. But without the names of Frederick's and Blanche's parents, I can't make the connection overseas. Even if I had them, Paris lost 90% of it's records in late 1800's. They lived in the 7th ward. Business and resident addresses include: 137 Exchange St., 522 Iverville, 1624 Rochblave Av., 711 Bourbon, 1221 Lafayette, 1020 Orleans, 2329 Esplanade 2323 Tulane, 1939 Palmyra, 160 S. Rampart, 2402 Iverville, 301 Bourbon, 921 Canal St., 2418 Lapeyrouse, 137 No. Galveston and 1322 Cleveland. Is anyone searching in New Orleans for any of these names: SULPICE, BEL(L)IN, BOURUT, BOROT, WINGERTER, GERHOLD, WIRTH, CABALLERO, LYNCH, WRAA, YAGNIER, CHEMITELIN, AND LALLEMENT? Thank you. Carol †
