Tina, Don't know why, but there were no Dupre or Dupree families indexed in 1880 Calcasieu Parish in 1880. I also didn't find the family enumerated anywhere in Louisiana for that census year, so they may have just been skipped. I checked 1900 and found only a couple of Dupres indexed in Calcasieu, and then began checking for Joseph Landrys. There are about 100 indexed in 1900 Louisiana, but only three in Calcasieu. Two were white and not the correct age, and even though this one was not born in 1872, and indexed as black instead of mulatto, because of the Dupre connection, I am sending it along, just in case. 1900 Parish Calcasieu, Louisiana - Ward Ten - July 2, 1900 - page 315 635 - Dupre, Octave, head; Nov 1875, age 24; married/3 years; (all born Louisiana); Day labor; renting house Corlene?, wife; Dec 1879, age 20; 2 children/2 living Dorista, son; May 1897, age 3 Constance, dau; Mar 1900, age 2 months In the same house: 636 - Landry, Joseph, head; Jul 1877, age 22; married/4 years; (all born Louisiana); Day labor Cecina?, wife; May 1883, age 17; 2 children/2 living Rosa, dau; Oct 1896, age 3 Simon, son; Feb 1900, age 3 months Note - "all born Louisiana" indicates self and parents born Louisiana for all individuals Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but do wish you much luck in your search, Linda in Georgia Census/Cemetery Lookup Volunteer Genealogy is my ONLY business. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tina Moulton" <tinam52@telocity.com> To: <LA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2002 4:12 AM Subject: [LA-CEN] Dupre, Calc Par, 1880 and beyond > Looking for the following family in the 1880 census and beyond.
