    3. Hello, I am still searching relatives in the US as I could trace some family members emigrating from Pfalz (Germany) to LA. The name is ZAHNBRECHER. My information are as follows (thanks to kind people in the US) : 1) Elise (Elisabeth) ZAHNBRECHER and mother Agatha born PFEIFFER Elise ZAHNBRECKER (note the spelling), age 9, She arrived aboard the Pequot from Havre arriving New Orleans 13 Dec 1860. She seemed to have been accompanied by: Agathe PFEIFFER, 38, her mother Charles PFEIFFER, 15. Agathe PFEIFFER (born in Oberotterbach, Germany, in 1822) was the second wife of my gggg-father Anton Zahnbrecher, they had a girl (Elisabetha ZAHNBRECHER born 1849 in Oberotterbach) before he died just one year later. 2) Mathias (or Matheus) ZAHNBRECHER (son of the above Anton ZAHNBRECHER) I am looking for descendants of Mathias ZAHNBRECHER who emigrated to LA, even if their name has changed. Mathias was born in Oberotterbach, Pfalz, Germany, in 1839 and got married twice in Orleans Parish, LA. 1st Marriage as Mathais ZAHNBRECHER with Mary Dougherty born Frey on 24 May 1876. 2nd Marriage as John Mathias ZAHNBERGER (different spelling but same person) with Marie Eblen, widow of Andreas Eitel, on 13 March 1884. I don't know if children were born. I could not find the name still existing in its exact spelling (nor Zahnbrecker or Zahnberger) in LA but maybe girls were born and get married, so changed their name. I know there are many ZAUNBRECHER (with U and not H) in LA, but I could not find any connection, both names exist in Germany without relation, the meaning of the names is also quite different. I would be glad to have any information if a spelling changing is known. Thank you in advance for any help Regards from Alsace Nathalie RICHERT born ZAHNBRECHER
