Albert, I didn't find any Joseph Simon indexed in 1870 Saint Landry Parish. There were two Joseph Simiens, Junior and Senior, but neither had a wife named Minerva or similar. Do you know anything more at all about them? Where and when they were born? Could they have been living with a relative in 1870, and if so, any idea who? Children's names perhaps?
