My great great grandfather was John Williams BURTON, but I haven't been able to track him down. Someone found for me in the indexes 3 John Burtons in the New Orleans Census for 1860, ward 3, ward 8, ward 11. Also one in Plaquemines for 1850 and 1860 Census. Also a John Burton on the New Orleans veterens schedl 1890. John's wife was Marie Theresa DUVERNOIS.
